Bunnings have donated some bins to make taiko drums 🙂 I am hoping to hold a busy bee to construct these drums one afternoon this term.
The process involves stretching masking tape and fabric tightly over the base of the bin (what will be the head of the drum). Because of this, children are welcome to help but an adult is needed for every drum. The perfect scenario would be one adult and a child working on a drum together. It might take twenty minutes or so to make a drum.
Assistance is also needed is sanding the bacci (drumsticks) to round off the end. Someone with a disc sander would be greatly appreciated!
If you can help, please email me (Jennifer.Gaunt@education.wa.edu.au) with afternoons you are available in Week 8/9/10 and I will send a group email when I have enough replies.
